ABOUT LEAD FOR DELAWARE
One day, all kids in Delaware will attend an excellent school.
Lead For Delaware is an innovative, highly-selective, alternative-route principal certification program. We recruit, train and certify high-potential leaders to serve in high-needs public schools across the state of Delaware. Each year, we select a small cohort of aspiring leaders to move through a two-year leadership development experience that provides 400 hours of professional development and 600 hours of clinical experience while serving in full-time in teaching and other school-based roles. Thanks to generous local funders, the program is offered at no-cost to participants and requires a 5-year commitment to school leadership within the state.
Upon completion of the program, Lead For Delaware leaders enter into formal school leadership roles and begin the work of transforming the educational options for the deserving students in our state.
